The COVID-19 Pandemic disrupted supply chains across almost all industries in the US, including the crop protection chemical industry. Prices increased significantly on most products as the supply chain became uncertain about product availability. Glyphosate, one of the most used herbicides in the US, increased by as much as 300 percent or more.
During this time, our wholesale chemical business found a less expensive alternative to liquid glyphosate and purchased a dry glyphosate product. The feedback we got from our customers was very positive. After this experience, we set out to explore how we could continue to supply our customers and remain competitive in the marketplace. We determined we would need to have our own EPA registration.
It took some time to navigate the regulatory processes and develop all the logistical pieces needed to launch a new product, but with the help of some great people in the industry, we are now able to offer a great alternative to liquid glyphosate – MOAB 75SG.
